For any strategic relationship, achieving the agreed and desired service levels with consistency and transparency is a prerequisite for a happy relationship.

For pharma, this is a fundamental requirement and a key performance indicator when seeking long-term reliability and quality. It is understanding what your potential translation partner will bring to your table and how they will also seek to reduce your own oversight. Furthermore, how the errors are avoided or “managed” and how discussions shape approaching challenges that must be overcome to meet your market objectives. Here we should remind ourselves that we are looking for a ‘strategic partnership’ which offers different benefits and approaches to a simply ‘tell and do’ relationship.

For me reducing the need for a partner’s oversight is an objective in setting operational excellence goals. This goes hand in hand with robust and repeatable processes that everyone understands.
